How we work

From site survey to dismantling

One person in charge from start to finish: Mr Kotsonis himself studies every project and supervises the installation of every scaffold.

  1. Site survey

We visit the site free of charge, measure the facade and note heights, access and any special requirements.

  2. Design & written quote

We propose the right scaffold system and give you a clear written quotation.

  3. Delivery

Materials are delivered with our own trucks at the agreed time, across Attica, mainland Greece and the islands.

  4. Installation

Our insured crew, certified for work at height, erects the scaffold with ties, guardrails and full decks.

  5. Inspection & handover

We check stability, ties and guardrails before handing the scaffold over for use.

  6. Dismantling

Once the work is finished we dismantle and remove all materials, leaving the site clean.

The company

A family business with 50 years in scaffolding

Kotsonis Scaffolding was founded in 1976 by Nikolaos Kotsonis to rent scaffolds and work platforms. It has worked with construction companies, architects, contractors and private clients, completing thousands of small and large projects.

In 1989 the business passed to his son, Panagiotis Kotsonis, who continues the work across Attica, mainland Greece and the islands. We have our own yard in Kamatero, our own trucks, a specialised crew and, above all, certified scaffolds for every kind of project.

  • Every project is studied by Mr Kotsonis himself
  • Written quotation and commitment to complete the job
  • We supervise the installation of every scaffold ourselves
  • Continuous investment in modern scaffolding systems

Kind regards,
Panagiotis Kotsonis

Safety & certification

We follow every safety measure

The safety of workers, residents and passers-by is our first priority on every scaffold.

All components we use are certified as required by Greek law and carry a type-examination certificate and declaration of conformity under Joint Ministerial Decision 16440/F.10.4/445/1993 (Government Gazette 756/B/1993) on the safe construction and use of steel scaffolds.

Work is carried out by an experienced crew whose social insurance is covered by our company. Our scaffolders hold a certificate of competence for work above 5 metres, and all projects are insured with Groupama for civil liability and workplace accidents.

Scaffolding rental: what you need to know

What is a scaffold?

A scaffold is a temporary steel structure that lets workers and materials reach parts of a building at height safely. It consists of frames or standards, diagonal braces, working decks, guardrails and ties that secure it to the building.

Scaffold types we supply

  • Frame facade scaffolding for apartment buildings and houses
  • Tube and coupler scaffolding for irregular shapes
  • Interior scaffolds and work platforms
  • Mobile scaffold towers on wheels
  • Cantilever and suspended scaffolds, bridge walkways
  • Safety and facade protection netting

When do you need scaffolding?

Facade painting and renovation, balcony and concrete repairs, external insulation, window installation, cladding, roof work, icon painting, maintenance of industrial plants and new construction.

What affects the rental price?

The price mainly depends on the facade area, height, rental period, site access, the need for netting or special structures, and distance. That is why we always give a written quote after a free site survey.

Regulations and certification

In Greece, the construction and use of steel scaffolds is regulated by JMD 16440/F.10.4/445/1993, and site safety by Presidential Decrees 1073/1981, 305/1996 and 155/2004. Our materials comply with ELOT EN 12810-1 and EN 12811-1.

FAQ

Safety measures & common questions

Are your scaffolds certified?

Yes. All components carry a type-examination certificate and declaration of conformity under Greek JMD 16440/F.10.4/445/1993. Materials meet ELOT EN 12810-1 and EN 12811-1, tubes meet EN 39 and couplers meet EN 74.

What safety measures do you follow during installation?

Every scaffold stands on adjustable base plates, is tied to the building at regular intervals and has full working decks, a top rail, mid rail and toe board. We install access ladders, safety netting where needed, and inspect the whole structure before handover.

Who installs the scaffold?

Only our own insured crew, certified for work above 5 metres and fully equipped with personal protective equipment (helmet, harness, safety boots). Installation is supervised by Mr Kotsonis himself.

Are you insured against damage or accidents?

Yes. All work is insured with Groupama for civil liability and workplace accidents, and the company pays the social insurance of its whole crew.

How are passers-by and neighbours protected?

Where a scaffold stands over a pavement or common area we install safety netting and, where required, a protective canopy or bridge walkway, so no materials fall and pedestrians pass safely.

Do I need a municipal permit for scaffolding on the pavement?

When a scaffold occupies a pavement or other public space, a permit from the local municipality is usually required. We advise you during the site survey on what your project needs.

What should crews working on the scaffold be careful about?

They must not remove ties, guardrails or decks, must not overload decks with materials and should only climb using the access ladders. Call us for any change to the scaffold or after severe weather so we can inspect it.

How much does scaffolding rental cost?

It depends on the area, height, rental period, access and scaffold type. The site survey is free and we always give you a written quote before starting.

Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Kamatero and serve all of Attica. With our own trucks we also install scaffolding across mainland Greece and on the islands.

Do you rent mobile scaffold towers for small jobs?

Yes, we have mobile towers on wheels with brakes and stabilisers, suitable for painting, interior work, warehouses and maintenance.
